A mid-weight synthetic insulation jacket designed to perform from high-altitude autumn conditions through prolonged stops in the depths of winter.
With many lightweight insulation options already available, this jacket was developed with the goal of providing reliable warmth you can trust, even in truly cold environments.
Dependable insulation, a surprisingly light feel when worn, strong resistance to moisture, and durability built for long-term use.
The Kamuy Jacket lets you enjoy winter activities more fully than ever before.
Air Flake × 20D Nylon
The insulation uses Air Flake, a synthetic insulation material that delivers down-like warmth,
lightness, and resilience.
Now updated to an improved Air Flake sheet that offers greater loft and minimizes cold spots.
Made from 100% recycled polyester, its ultra-fine fibers are curled and interwoven to trap
generous amounts of air, achieving excellent thermal performance with a soft, comfortable feel.
It retains warmth even when wet, and shows minimal loss of loft after 30+ wash tests, making it a
highly durable insulation material.
The outer fabric is 20-denier ripstop nylon, also 100% recycled, providing a supple hand feel that
preserves the softness of the Air Flake insulation.
A relaxed belay-parka–style silhouette you can throw on with ease
Inspired by climbing belay parkas, the jacket is designed with a generously relaxed silhouette for
effortless layering.
Raglan sleeves around the shoulders provide a wide range of motion and reduce stress while
wearing.
The neckline is set slightly lower to avoid interference with balaclavas or neck gaiters.
Pulling the drawcord at the back of the hood prevents flapping in strong winds while allowing the fit
to be adjusted without obstructing your field of view.
Functionality designed for mountain travel and climbing
The double-zipper design allows for flexible ventilation while moving, as well as adaptable layering
during belays.
The distinctive oversized front pockets are insulated, making them highly effective as hand
warmers.
Inside, a large mesh pocket provides a convenient place to help keep wet gloves warm and dry, and
to prevent goggles from fogging.

What kind of insulation do we truly want to use right now?
The planning of the Kamuy Jacket began with that simple question.
Snow surfing, bivy nights, brief stops tucked behind rock faces.
What we needed in those moments was a single piece that offered the lightness and warmth unique
to synthetic insulation—along with the reassuring ease of something you can simply throw on.
The key inspiration was the climbing belay parka.
A belay parka is an insulated jacket designed so the belayer—supporting the rope during a climb—
can stay warm even when worn over a harness.
That defining quality of being able to “just pull it on” was exactly what we were looking for.
In the world of UL gear, many tools and ideas have long been adapted from climbing.
The Kamuy Jacket was born within that same lineage.
