For clothing made to move with the body, fine-wale corduroy has long been the choice.

The grooves let wind through while the ridges trap air — balancing warmth and breathability.

We thought the UNfake Pants were already perfected for us.

But in everyday life, isn’t there still untapped potential in natural materials that don’t mind a little

dirt or wear?

Japanese fine-wale cotton corduroy

We use rare, domestically produced fine-wale cotton corduroy.

Woven at a higher density thanusual, the fabric offers firm structure and durability.

The surface is soft and plush thanks to cut piles and brushing, while the back has a crisp, dry feel from the American cotton fibers used. One garment combines both softness and dryness.

The raised wales trap air for warmth, while the grooves allow breathability, achieving the seemingly contradictory balance of “warm yet breathable.”

With wear and washing, the fabric softens and molds to the body, developing a richer texture over time.

Distinct wide-tapered silhouette

The waist is set slightly higher, with a generous wide fit from hip to knee. A gentle taper toward the hem ensures ease of leg movement and mobility.

Accounting for the natural vertical shrinkage of corduroy, the measurements are slightly larger.

With washing, the fabric gradually shrinks, bringing the pants closer to the intended UNfake Pants silhouette.

Available in S/M and L/XL, the design allows anyone, regardless of height or gender, to enjoy both fit and silhouette.

Simple design for intuitive use

Following the UNfake Pants, these pants feature a streamlined design that works seamlessly from everyday life to the outdoors.

The elastic waist with drawcord allows for intuitive fit adjustment.

Additionally, the hem can be cinched with an elastic spindle, making them suitable for more active scenarios like skating or climbing.

    Corduroy is often imported, and at first glance, the difference isn’t obvious.

    As long as there are wales, it looks the part.

    But for us, choosing corduroy as a tool isn’t just about “texture” or “character.”

    It must be strong enough for long-term use and a material that develops richness the more it’s worn.

    That was the standard we set for corduroy.

    Domestic corduroy is woven in a limited number of factories, mainly in Shizuoka.

    There, the fabric is not only woven and cut to bring out the wales, but also finished through additional “washing” and “singeing” processes.

    Washing removes excess fibers and shapes the wales.

    Singeing aligns the surface, creating a refined luster and deep shadows.

    These extra steps reduce fiber shedding in the finished product and allow the material to developadeeper character over time.

    It’s not valuable simply because it’s domestic or labor-intensive.

    It’s made to be worn and to grow in character, not to wear out.

    To create such a tool, these necessary processes naturally remain in Japanese production.
