Pan-Fired Green Tea Bags

A rare green tea made from leaves grown deep in the mountains of Takachiho, Miyazaki, and finished using Japan's traditional kamairi (pan-fired) method.

Made from Yabukita, an heirloom Japanese varietal, the leaves are carefully pan-fired in an iron kettle to bring out their natural character.

A gently roasted aroma, a clean, refreshing cup, and a soft, natural sweetness that lingers.

    Based in Koshigaya, Saitama, Tea For You Gift works in collaboration with tea growers across Japan creating teas that express the character of each landscape and season.

    Grown by drawing on the strength of the land itself, these leaves don't rely on strong aroma or bold flavor — instead, they reveal the tea's own features and lingering finish. Straight and unadorned. 

    The first time I tried it, whatever image I'd held of tea was quietly overturned.

    Cold-brewed slowly over time, in particular, is where the leaf's character really shows.

How to Brew

HOT

  1. Place one tea bag in a cup or teapot. 
  2. Pour in 250ml of freshly boiled water.
  3. Wait 1 to 1½ minutes. Ready to drink.

First infusion

Full-bodied, with plenty of aroma — good alongside a meal.

Second infusion

Lighter in body, and just as good over rice as ochazuke.
