The softness, comfort, and quiet atmosphere that only natural materials can offer — these are qualities no synthetic fiber can replicate.

Through field testing with a wide range of materials, we arrived at this Belgian linen.

A thinness that lets the wind pass through, yet just enough body to function as genuine sun protection.

A touch that grows softer with every wear, alongside durability that holds up to bushwhacking and rocky terrain.

It was the encounter with a material that held all of this in balance that brought the Sun Hoody to completion.

A linen lawn that grows more attunedto your skin the more you wear it.

We use linen from the Kortrijk region

of Belgium — grown in a mild climate, with fibers that are exceptionally fine and long, even among linens.

Linen, once widely used in European workwear, excels in strength, absorbency, quick-drying, breathability, and also carries natural antibacterial properties.Naturally a fabric with strong body, this particular linen uses fine, long fibers.

Further, through the washing and dyeing processes — carried out without tension, and allowed to take their time — the threads naturally relax, resulting in a full, soft finish.

Weaving and dyeing are carried out in the Enshu region of Shizuoka Prefecture.

A long-sleeve pulloverthat can be worn as sun protection under the blazing sun.

To make the most of linen's natural breathability, the cut draws reference from the Mexican parka — a relaxed fit with clean, straight lines.

A wider neck and hem keep air moving freely, staying comfortable even in summer.

The oversized hood rises around the neck when worn, and during rest, fresh air flows through the back — a design built for ventilation.

Humid trails, high mountain ridgelines in summer, river bushwhacking — it stays cool across a wide range of environments.

A piece fully committed to the single concept of sun protection.

Construction that enhances both durabilityand airflow.

To bring out the full breathability of the fabric, a felled seam construction is used throughout.

A technique where the raw edges are folded inward and sewn flat — invisible from the outside.

With repeated wear, the fabric is less prone to fraying, improving the durability of every seam.

Additionally, the four layers of fabric at each seam act as a kind of inner structure, helping the garment hold its shape and generous silhouette — contributing further to the easy, open airflow.

The linen fabric used in the Sun Hoody is woven and dyed in Enshu.

In the early stages of development, we were working with a blend of synthetic and linen fibers.

The functional performance was there — strength, quick-drying — but the addition of synthetic increased the fabric density, and we couldn't get the airflow we were looking for.

In searching for a fabric that could stand on linen alone, we found this one.

The quality of the Belgian linen as a raw material was immediately apparent. But how that soft, full texture came to be — that wasn't clear to us at first.

    What process produces this finish?

This fabric is dyed using a method called jet dyeing. The woven fabric is formed into a loop and moved through the dye bath in a flowing motion — dyeing without applying tension.

Typically, the pre-scouring (the wash before dyeing) and the dyeing itself are carried out in separate dedicated machines.

With this fabric, both are processed using the same jet dyeing equipment.

Scour. Then dye. Each time the process changes, the machine must be fully cleaned — time- consuming, and labor-intensive.

And yet this method is chosen because by carrying out both scouring and dyeing without tension,

the threads naturally relax. The result is a fabric that retains linen's characteristic body, while drawing out a full, gentle softness.

This "softness with structure" and "lightness that lets the wind through" connect directly to how the garment feels to wear.

The Sun Hoody is designed around these qualities of the material.

To receive the wind, let air flow through, and be worn continuously without clinging to the skin.

That wearing experience is built through the accumulation of choices — in material and in process.
