We believe that playing in winter nature requires clothing specialized for specific purposes.

Satoyama walks, snow hiking, alpine terrain, skiing and snowboarding, and yuki-ita.

Each way of playing demands different functions.

The UNfake WT Pants do not offer full waterproof protection against rain.

However, by carefully layering the functions we truly need in winter environments, they have become a kind of supporting player—gear that fits a wide range of activities.

When you’re heading out to play, or when you’re unsure what to wear, they’re the pair you instinctively pull on.

Tools like that may be the ones that end up being used the most.

Double-weave stretch fabric with water-repellent finish

A double-weave stretch fabric is used, featuring a high-density outer face that resists snow buildup,

and a softer inner face with strong kickback for excellent stretch recovery.

Because the outer surface is tightly woven, the knees are less likely to bag out with wear. Despite

being a softshell material, it also provides a well-balanced level of wind resistance.

The inner surface is brushed, and thanks to polyester’s low thermal conductivity, it traps a layer of

air that helps retain heat for a warm, comfortable feel.

Finished with a C0 durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment.

Active design focused on real-world usability in the field

While retaining the silhouette of the UNfake Pants, each detail has been reworked with winter

conditions in mind.

The waist features an elastic + belt system, allowing intuitive fit adjustment and easy operation even

while wearing gloves. The side belts can also be used to attach a leash cord for yuki-ita.

All pockets are zippered, and the pocket bags are made from a warm brushed fabric, doubling as

effective hand warmers. Inside the front pockets, elastic loops are included for securing keys or

clipping a beacon.

Distinctive wide-tapered silhouette

The waist is set slightly higher, with a solid wide silhouette from the hips through the knees.

A gentle taper toward the hem ensures ease of leg lift and smooth, unrestricted movement.

Thanks to the wide cut, the fabric stays comfortable and doesn’t cling to the skin even when you

work up a sweat, and it also allows room for wearing inner tights.

Offered in two sizes—S/M and L/XL—the design is made to let anyone enjoy both the fit and the

silhouette, regardless of height or gender.

    The arrival of a true winter is just ahead.

    When we think of winter mountains, many people picture snow-covered landscapes wrapped in piercingly cold, tense air.

    But even within the idea of “winter mountains,” there are many ways to engage with them, many ways to play.

    Satoyama trails walked while listening to the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot.

    Snow hikes moving quietly through silvery stillness on snowshoes.

    Yuki-ita, gaining elevation under your own power while carving free lines.

    When development first began, the UNfake WT Pants were envisioned as softshell pants dedicated to snow conditions—especially yuki-ita.

    A wide silhouette that blocks wind while allowing heat and moisture to escape, without restricting movement.

    A high-density outer fabric that sheds sub-zero powder snow with a simple brush-off, and a brushed inner surface that feels warm the moment you step into them.

    In pursuit of the right balance between mobility, warmth, and breathability, we went through countless prototypes and tests.

    The first sample had insufficient fabric density, leaving issues with durability and drying when wet.

    By the second sample, the fabric itself had improved, but there were still frustrations with the details.

    With the third sample, adjustments to waist strength and component design finally brought the prototype to completion.

    Through repeated prototyping and testing, we realized that pants with these qualities worked not only for snow and yuki-ita, but across a wide range of uses—from satoyama to full snow conditions.

    Originally, they would have been named the UNfake SW (Snow) Pants.

    But we wanted them to be worn across as many winter scenes as possible.

    With that hope in mind, they were renamed the UNfake WT (Winter) Pants.
